How to choose high-quality plastic tubes
Tubes, a convenient and economical packaging material, are widely used in the daily chemical industry and are very popular. A high-quality hose can not only protect the contents but also enhance the product level, thus helping daily chemical enterprises win more consumers. So, for daily chemical enterprises, how to choose high-quality plastic tubes that are suitable for their products? Below, we will introduce from several important aspects.
The stiffness of the material: The requirements for the stiffness of tubes vary among daily chemical enterprises. So, how can the desired stiffness be achieved? The polyethylene commonly used in tubes mainly includes low-density polyethylene, high-density polyethylene and linear low-density polyethylene.

Chemical resistance of materials: High-density polyethylene has better chemical resistance than low-density polyethylene.
Weather resistance of materials: To control the short-term or long-term performance of tubes, factors such as appearance, pressure/drop resistance, sealing strength, environmental stress crack resistance (ESCR value), fragrance and loss of active ingredients need to be considered.
Selection of color masterbatches: Color masterbatches play a crucial role in the quality control of tubes. Therefore, when choosing color masterbatches, user enterprises should consider whether they have good dispersibility, filtration and thermal stability, weather resistance and product resistance. Daily chemical enterprises should test the stability of new products and tubes (conduct accelerated tests under specified conditions).
Types of varnish and their respective characteristics: The varnish used for tubes is divided into ultraviolet (UV) type and heat-dried type. In terms of appearance, it can be further classified into glossy and matte. Varnish not only provides a beautiful visual effect, but also protects the contents and has a certain blocking effect on oxygen, water vapor and fragrance.
Requirements for the pipe body/pipe head: 1. The surface of the pipe body should be smooth and clean, free of stripes, scratches, scratches, and shrinkage deformation. The pipe body should be straight and not bent. The thickness of the pipe wall should be uniform. The dimensional tolerances of the pipe wall thickness, pipe length, and diameter should all be within the specified range.
Printing requirements: OFFSET printing is typically used for hose processing, and most of the inks used are UV-dried. It usually requires strong adhesion and color resistance of the inks. The printing color should be within the specified depth range, the overprint position should be accurate, the deviation should be within 0.2mm, and the font should be complete and clear.
Requirements for plastic caps: Plastic caps are typically injection molded from polypropylene (PP). High-quality plastic caps should have no obvious shrinkage marks or flash, the mold closing line should be smooth, the dimensions accurate, and they should fit smoothly with the pipe head. During normal use, they should not cause structural damage such as brittleness or cracks. For instance, when the opening force is within the range, the flip cover should be able to be folded more than 300 times without any breakage.

It is believed that by starting from the above aspects, the majority of daily chemical enterprises should be able to select high-quality tube packaging products.
