Common barrier materials used in lip gloss tube packaging include aluminum foil, EVOH, oxide-coated PET, and nylon, etc. Their barrier properties vary depending on the material and thickness. For example, aluminum foil has excellent barrier properties, and when the thickness exceeds 25μm, its barrier effect can reach 100%. At the same time, the interaction between fragrance and packaging materials should also be considered. For instance, polyolefin materials may absorb essential oils. In such cases, measures such as adding a protective coating between the aluminum foil and polyolefin materials can be taken.

It involves multiple aspects such as the material's own temperature resistance, dimensional stability, and resistance to environmental stress cracking. In cold winters, some cosmetics require packaging with particularly good weather resistance to ensure their quality. For example, if plastic tubes are made of conventional materials like PP, they may become brittle and easily break due to their low glass transition temperature in low-temperature environments, leading to failure in drop tests or tube burst issues. To solve this problem, the formula structure of the plastic tubes needs to be adjusted by adding toughening materials to enhance their impact resistance and ensure excellent performance in various environments.
The decoration methods of lip gloss tube packaging materials mainly include direct printing and self-adhesive labels. Direct printing techniques include screen printing and offset printing, etc. In contrast, the advantage of self-adhesive labels lies in the diversity and stability of their printing. Traditional extruded tubes are usually printed after tube production, mainly using offset printing and screen printing, while self-adhesive printing offers a variety of combined printing processes such as letterpress, flexographic, offset, screen, and hot stamping, making it possible to achieve more stable and outstanding high-difficulty color expressions.
